The principle of ultra filtration is the mechanical separation of particles, micro organisms or viruses ranging from 0.001 µm to 0.1 µm from a fluid by passing the fluid through a membrane. All impurities in the fluid larger than the pore size of the membrane are retained. The driving force of the ultra filtration is the differential pressure between feed and filtrate flow. Ultra filtration is used in the dairy-, food-, textile-, water- and other industries. |
